Saturday Morning Report from Thomasville

Sometime in the predawn hours of this morning (it was still dark outside; I would say it was between 2 and 3 am), my dog Ellie started barking, and my birds Ric and Earl were making noises and moving around under their covers. I heard some gunfire, that sounded really close to us. I got up in the dark, and went and sat in the living room floor to be close to Ellie, Ric, and Earl, and Finneas and Petra were in their bowl in the kitchen. Ellie was agitated. I petted her and she licked my hand. After awhile, we all calmed down, and I went back to bed. Ellie stayed with Ric and Earl; she has been sleeping in there with them lately. My mom was oblivious; all she did was complain later in the morning that my girl Ellie was barking.

Saturday at CVS

At 10:30 this morning, I arrived at the CVS store on Westchester Drive in High Point NC, to pick up a prescription for my mother. When I walked in the main door of the store, I noticed that the pharmacy area was dark, and the privacy screen that is normally used when they are giving vaccinations was in front of the pharmacy counter. The automated phone system kept saying: "Welcome to CVS Pharmacy.", over and over. I asked a cashier at the front store counter about why the pharmacy wasn't open, and when it might be. As it turns out, she was an employee that normally works in the pharmacy itself, and she said that the pharmacist had "called out", and that they could not open the pharmacy without a pharmacist on duty. She apologized for the inconvenience, and went on to tell me that the district store manager was trying to find a pharmacist for that store, and they were hoping to be open by lunch, but that so far they had not heard back from him about anything defi

Thursday Afternoon at Walgreens

Yesterday afternoon my dog Ellie and I took my mom to Walgreens on Julian Avenue here in Thomasville for a 230 appointment for a flu vaccine. She was inside for a really long time. She wasn't given ANY of the normal paperwork they are legally obligated to give regarding any vaccine that you are given, let alone a receipt. She said they told her that there was a glitch in their online system, and they couldn't see any information that people had put online, so she had to fill it out again. She also said that she heard the pharmacy staff tell people that it would be a 16 hour wait for any prescriptions that were dropped off, and that at least 2 customers told her that they were moving their prescriptions to other pharmacies. At the same time they were making vaccination customers with scheduled appointments wait over an hour, the pharmacy staff said that your appointment was cancelled if you weren't already there at the exact minute of your appointment time. Although how they
