The summer issue of LEX arrived in my mailbox this afternoon! Yay! It always makes my day when the new letter writing possibilities come my way! 
I have a few individuals that I have written to since the 1990s that I met through The Letter Exchange, and I treasure them. Of course, not all correspondences last that long, but I enjoy the possibility of new ones. 
A large number of people now don't seem to value personal correspondence, and it makes me sad. They truly do not know what they are missing. For myself, I am happy that I found The Letter Exchange, and for the friends that I have gained through them. I would recommend The Letter Exchange to anyone who loves writing letters and postcards!

Between 230 and 300 this afternoon, Ellie and I were taking a walk in the front yard, and we noticed a woman approaching. She was walking along the Old Thomasville Rd., coming from town(Thomasville). She staggered out into one lane of the road, and a charcoal grey SUV honked its horn at her to move out of the road.  She stood in Penny Road for a few minutes and looked at me and Ellie, then started moving towards us. She had a small black backpack, and another black drawstring bag that looked like the kind you might carry a water bottle in. She was white, with blonde hair, and had on red shorts and a white shirt. I estimated that she was around my age(58), plus or minus 5 years.  She appeared to be either inebriated or high. She called "Hey, Lady", to me as she moved toward Ellie and me. Wednesday with Camille

 This morning, I finished the final cooking of a batch of mixed citrus perl that I am making into candied fruit peel. once it cooled, I drained the sugar syrup liquid off and put it into a container. It is wonderful for flavoring teas and cocktails, as we!! As sparking water. Then I placed the peel on a tray covered in wax paper to dry, and covered it with granulated sugar.  Around 11:30 this morning, I started cooking some homemade Cuban black bean soup. I had soaked the dried beans in water overnight in preparation.  I spent this rainy day inside, enjoying the company of my animal family: my terrier dog, Ellie, and my two birds, my grey cockatiel, Ric, and my blue crowned conure, Earl. Such pleasant time! For dessert tonight, I made lemon pudding with fresh blueberries and banana in it, rimmed with miniature vanilla wafers. Thomasville Public Library Adult Summer Reading Program and Book Sale

 Yesterday was the first day to sign up for the Adult Summer Reading Program at the Thomasville Public Library, and so I did. There are weekly prize drawings, scavenger hunts in the library for additional prizes, free movies, free craft classes, and book clubs. There will be a kickoff party for all of the summer reading programs (adult and children) on June 15.  While I was there, I also went to the library's current book sale, which runs through June 15. I found a Great Courses class on Suspense and Mystery Fiction Writing for $3!
